Probiotic Choc Coconut & Ginger Bliss Balls

The thing I love about bliss balls is you can sneak so many healthy ingredients into them. These ones have sneaky probiotics in them to support the immune system, improve gut health, fight candida, assist good digestion and lots more. I love these probiotics because they're not made in a lab in petri dish, they are made from 100% real food that has been naturally fermented, slow dried and ground into a powder. They also contain pre-biotics - which are food for probiotics - i love being to use real food as medicine. These little bliss balls also contain ginger which contains anti-inflammatory properties, aids with indigestion, nausea and stomach pains, muscle soreness, eases headaches, sore throats and digestion.

Makes 20 bliss balls

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
  • 1-2 tsp probiotic powder
  • 1-2 tsp vanilla powder (or essence)
  • 1/2 - 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 - 1 Tbsp ginger powder (or freshly grated ginger to taste)
  • 1 1/2 cups dates
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup cacao melts (the more you add the stronger the dark choc flavour will be)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil

Method

1. Add all the ingredients to a thermomix or a high powered blender and blitz until completely broken down and until the mixtures begins to come together.
2. If the mixture isn't coming together yet add a few more dates, or a 1/2 Tbsp of water at a time and re-blend until you can roll the mixture easily into balls. If the mixture is too wet add more shredded coconut or sunflower seeds and keep re-blending until you reach the desired consistency.
3. Taste the mixture and adjust if needed.
4. Roll the mixture into balls (I find it easiest to roll them when my hands are slightly wet, or i put a little coconut oil onto my palms to stop the mixture sticking to them).
5. Store in the fridge in an air-tight container or large glass jar.
